Dr. Silva leads the Institutional Inclusive Excellence Team for Faculty and Staff Initiatives and serves as the Interim Chief Diversity Office.  She has been an administrator in diversity, equity, inclusion since 1997.  She also holds a PhD in Educational Administration with a concentration in Higher Education from the UT Austin, a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education from the UTSA and a BFA from UT Austin.  Dr. Silva is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi and Golden Key National Honor Societies.  In 2006, she received the Texas State’s Mariel Muir Excellence in Mentoring Award and the Excellence in Diversity Award in 2014. In 2016, she was the recipient of the prestigious Student Foundation’s, Foundations of Excellence Award.

Deana is a Sr. Talent Acquisition and Inclusion Recruiter who provides talent acquisition and recruitment services in an effort to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce at Texas State. She develops effective recruitment strategies to fill staff positions and manages the job posting process. She provides support to university users of PeopleAdmin and HireRight, determines effective recruitment advertising tools, and compiles, analyzes and maintains recruitment data and metrics.

Leah is a Talent Acquisition and Inclusion Recruiter who provides talent acquisition and recruitment services in an effort to build a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce at Texas State. She manages the recommendation for hire process for the placement of staff positions including pre-employment screening and building and maintaining relationships with hiring managers and candidates throughout the job offer process. She provides support to university users of PeopleAdmin and HireRight, and compiles, analyzes, and maintains recruitment data and metrics.

LynnAnn Brewer is the Director of Talent Acquisition, Inclusion, and Retention. As a first-generation college graduate and woman of color who has navigated the human resources profession for over twenty years. Her experience as a Vietnamese and Chinese child of war refugees leads her to value the diverse perspectives that make the Bobcat nation a more inclusive community

Alicia manages the Talent Acquisition, Inclusion and Retention team and supports the university with the strategic development of community partnerships and assists in creating talent pipelines to secure a diverse talent pool. She oversees the coordination Bobcat J.E.D.I. Certificate Program and provides support in applicant tracking, career fairs, employment eligibility verifications, and provides consultations to applicants.

  • Plan, develop, and implement effective Talent Acquisition strategies to attract a diverse, robust talent pool
  • Provide support and consultations in areas of Talent Acquisition and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)
  • Develop and foster partnerships to expand community outreach and promote the University's mission and goals

Graduate Assistants & Student Workers

Our graduate assistants and student workers are the most important contributors to our team. They help us carry out the University's mission, values, and goals. We mentor our assistants and students through their employment to learn more about diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, talent acquisition, knowledge, skills, abilities. In their positions, they develop competencies and behavior to grow professionally, be globally acclimated, and ready for a career post-graduation.
